Got to the room and stretched out on the bed to find alot of hair that wasn't mine. pulled back the cover and sheets to find more "body hair"! Needless to say I don't think my sheets were fresh and clean.

Ate during their karaoke night on Saturday and EVERYBODY was singing country (my version of Rawhide was probably quite entertaining). Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful. I felt like a local. My kid had chicken strips (pretty ordinary) and fries (delicious crinkle fries), his meal was free with the website coupon. The sampler appetizer combo was more food than we expected, none of us finished our meals. The salad bar had a great variety, very good. My wife enjoyed the lasagna & I enjoyed stealing some of her delicious garlic bread. I had the king crab legs & filet combo. They split the legs already, no hurting your fingers here. I chose lyonaise potatoes, it was a great choice (hash browns mixed with onions). My meal was amazing. I will definitely be back.

At first coming I wondered what this place would be like, as the front lobby check in seemed a but dated. The location is on aan access road right on the main road. They have 2 bldgs there connected by a walkway and I was in the back bldg which was a bit more modern than rhe main bldg looked (i got in at 1am). The bldg I was in was fine, and the room and furnishing were all very acceptable. i think a bit over priced but all was good. The back bldg has an indoor pool and entertainment area with some arcade gamea and area to hang out as well as the breadlkfast area to eat (free buffet - pretty good). I think at night they have a bar type ser up and was all pretty decent. The rooms all overlook this area. Plenty of places to eat and shopping nearby and the soccer complex was @ 15 min away. I would take my family/kids here, it is acceptable but a bit sketchy looking at 1st glance as my kids might say. I still think its a tad overpriced.

If you want a quaint experience in a small midwest town, look no further than Kitty's Conservatory at the Long Branch Best Western Hotel in Marion, Iowa. Based on the old western series Gunsmoke, the fascade of the building resembles a street front from the late 1800's. Walk in and you will find wagon wheels and covered wagon tops adorn the hallways and walls of this eclectic watering hole. You'll be met with friendly but not too quick service, but the beer is cold and the food is satisfying. Take a spin on the dance floor with your sweetie or a new friend on nights that the jazz ensemble entertains. The establishment also boasts an ATM and an online juke box with a good sound system. You'll want to come back wearing cowboy boots and a 10 gallon hat!

We loved staying here! The hotel has a full restaurant and a separate bar in the other building where you can get a full meal too. There's a game area with a pool table, darts, etc. and a pool, hot tub, sauna and gym. The staff was friendly, the rooms had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The location is very close to all the the shoping on the north end of Cedar Rapids. We have decided to make this our go to hotel when we stay in CR.

My home away from home! The Longbranch has the best employees in the industry! I have been staying here every Iowa Hawkeye home game for over 7 years!! Ray, the overnight manager, is beyond awesome!! He always has our room and wake up call all set up before we even get here! He has been here as long as we have been coming to stay here!! The room is spotless and smells clean upon arrival. The room is spacious even with a king sized bed in it. The room is always the perfect temperature! The bed is comfy and the bedding is spotless and smells clean! There are also a variety of pillows to choose from. The room also has a refrigerator to keep our drinks/ leftovers for breakfast cold. The microwave in room makes it easy to whip up some breakfast. If you forget breakfast, they have a FREE, fabulous breakfast with HOT food! The shower is a perfect pressure and the towels are nice. They don't scratch your skin when your drying off! The pool is nice too! The hotel also offers a full service bar and there is a restaurant onsite and also multiple vending machines! If you forget something, they most likely have it at the front desk or onsite! I don't feel like the decor is outdated, however I do agree that this place is well maintained. I'm a huge fan of the Longbranch and plan to continue to stay here for many home games to come.

You may be asking yourself "Why was Jenna S. hanging out in a hotel in Cedar Rapids, IA?" I was asking myself the same question. A friend of mine got married nearby and this was the hotel of choice for all of the out-of-town guests (which was almost everyone since this was Iowa). This place was cheesy to the max. When we approached from the street, there was an Old West Saloon scene painted onto the front of the building. AWESOME. The interior was designed to match and there was a lot happening in this place. There's a ton of space for events, lots of guest rooms and a pool. Our room was decent. Kind of old school, nice LCD TV, minifridge for all of our beer and a blow dryer. That's about all I can ask for in a hotel. The decor of the hotel was definitely 1980s but it did the trick for a place to crash with comfy pillows. The breakfast was nice and inexpensive. Full blown buffet of hot foods available, which is nice. Also close to all kinds of shopping and a Starbucks, since that's clearly my #1 travel priority. If you ever find yourself in Cedar Rapids, stay at the Longbranch. Best Westerns are great hotels and this one did not fail to disappoint. Under $100 a night, too.

I'm with a flight crew that has no choice...But to stay here. Alto, the hotel tries hard to accommodate our unusual hours...we got in late fri night. Hoping to get some food at the bar at 11:15pm....not too be had here! Which we understood. So we decided to have a drink anyway. The bartender, which seemed too maybe be a manager? Not sure. But he was not happy too be there! He was so rude, we had a drink and left. He made us so uncomfortable to even be there. Such bad service!

Overpriced, rude service, slow service, bad food. Server touched my straw with the pitcher when refilling my drink. Unsanitary.

I like the Longbranch...we come here for Name that Tune a lot. It's a great time and doesn't cost a lot of money. The taco bar is only $3.00 with a one drink minimum (doesn't have to be alcohol). They have a different $3.00 special every night, but you can always order off of the menu too. The staff is always really nice. I recently called them about placing a block on a set of rooms for our wedding and the front desk lady was very friendly and explained the details to me. There are only a few hotels in the area with a restaurant/bar in them and Longbranch is one of those few.

There are no icky comforters here. The benefit: fewer stranger germs, the downside: one thin blanket is not enough for everybody. The bed is comfy, the pillows are nice. Flat screen tvs and the good cable. My room was in the back building (there are at least 2 separate buildings) on the second floor next to the stairs and the pool so that kind of sucked! It was loud and there weren't any visible staff present in that building to encourage people to be quiet. The interior of the building is soooo dated it's actually funny. There is a restaurant and bar in the other building and the only people I saw up there were members of the blue blockers club and a couple of late-30ish partial to 80s hair and clothes! That being said, the room was clean and nice looking. I got our reservation on Priceline for about half off and I feel fairly satisfied with what I got. If I had paid full price I would have been very disappointed in the value. I wrote the above while convincing my baby to go back to sleep in the middle of the night. I wanted to add a few things. When I woke up on our last morning there was a millipede in bed with us! YUK!!! The room was on the "2nd floor" but it was a half-basement room, with the window not far above the ground. Also I utilized the baby crib, its a porta-crib desperately in need of a new mattress. The plastic covering the foam is torn in several places and is obviously almost as old as I am.

Very dated, though well maintained, property. Props for the LCD TV's, but I felt like I was a guest at your Uncle Morty's 1970's house. It was clean, the property is extrapolated.. a sky-walk connected complex of multiple story shot gun buildings. On arrival, I had to wait and wait, tired and ready to sleep, because the people ahead of me had been booked into someone else's room . What's more frustrating is that I wasn't even acknowledged as I waited. That's just poor service. Look, the owners obviously have some pride in this property, but for me its just too old and stale. You can wash an old dog over and over, but its still an old dog.

You have to be 21 or older to eat all you can eat wings and you can't eat them in the dinning area. Won't ever recommended or be eating there and for the record I'm over 21

I had never been to Cedar Rapids and my company normally picks out the hotels we get sentenced to. As we pulled up to the hotel it was very hard not to laugh. The front of the hotel looks like a cheezy 1980's Western movie set. To top it off they even have the 70 foot long light bulb LONGBRANCH sign. The whole setup is very akward. It is multiple buildings connected by raised walkways. The feel is old, dark, dingy, and smelly. It's like that summer camp you attended in as a teenager and once you catch a wiff of the smell it brings back memories. The rooms were OK, and did have a few updates. I'm not going to give it 5 stars because they have LCD TV's. That should be a staple in todays age. Beds were comfy and the rooms were overall much cleaner then the public areas. Lots of food options within walking distance.

Food - 2.5/5 Service - 2/5 Atmosphere - 2/5 Price - 2/5 Here for Dinner - Bill was $17 w/ tip Still in Cedar Rapids for my overnight and didn't want to wander too much so we ate at the hotel. The Longbranch tries to be this western cowboy / sports bar kind-a of thing w/ a dance floor and a place for live music. Service was a bit slow and....well.....not the most welcoming and warming. I ordered a beer and a ice water which took about 7 mins to get - considering the bar was only 20' away. Oh yeah there was only 5 to 6 tables in use and 2 servers. I asked the server about what I was thinking of ordering, from the dinner menu, and her response was - "Is that the ..." - no I said - "Oh thats the ... right" - wrong again - "Well what is then, I mean I don't eat meat so I don't know what a lot of these items are" OMG! Her choice to be a vegetarian - no worries - but to not even know your menu or the high priced dishes either?!?! Isn't Iowa know for its Pork? My order was: The Bronco Buster - A butterflied pork tenderloin My dinner came with what I thought would be the standard salad bar, baked spud and the pork. I sauntered over to the circa 1981 brown veneered pannel circular salad bar and to my disappointment...yep....you guesses it....F'ing Iceberg lettuce and cherry tomatoes. The only other veggies where snack cut carrots and celery. Everything else was dressing encased extruded durum wheat bits (pasta). Once the plate showed up it was pretty obvious this was a speed cook item. The almost 10oz's of a once beautiful White Pork Tenderloin was hacked in half and hammered down on a flattop back in the recesses of ole-cookie's kitchen. Heavily seasoned with garlic powder and pressed like a hydraulic lift to make sure that the only recognizable part of this pork piece is its white flesh. Cutting into the meat was like sawing into Ward Clever's leather lounge chair. What little juice remained quickly escaped and had to be sopped back up with some forking finesse. Overall I ate 3/4 of it because....well I was hungry and like a hungry person at a restaurant you just want your food cooked well. I should have walked in with more realistic expectation. Don't get me wrong this place in not terrible but what the dinner menu implied and what was actually served were two different things. If you are looking for the A-typical fried bar foods and par-boiled ribs - this would be a good spot. Better than Granite City across the way - you can read my review of that place on Yelp as well.

I'm probably biased because I like the atmosphere more than I like the food or service (strange, because I normally base a lot off the service). It's a dive, but every night there's a cheap special where I can channel my poor college student days and eat the crap out of a lot of mediocre food for not a lot of money. You'll find me there on Wednesdays for $3 taco bar or Thursdays for $3 wing bar. Plus, trivia AND karaoke? Well you've got this Asian nerd's full attention.

Not too crowded, mostly domestic beers. They do have Stella on tap. The staff is ok, surprisingly not very friendly for iowa. But they do a good job. The main draw here is the karaoke bar. If you are a singer or want to practice for your big day on american idol, you need to hit this place up. Not a big crowd and a good selection of tunes, not that I attempted it. and no smoking inside, but right out the front door there's a chimney factory. Seriously, smoking is bad for you people! But thanks for keeping it outside iowa!

Great place especially for the $$$. Stayed in the building with the pool. This place has very clean and newly remodeled rooms. Awesome showers, comfortable beds, Flat Screen TV's, great location, and complimentary breakfast (including hot food). Very impressed with the remodeled rooms (especially shower).

Being put in a freezer room at 9:30 pm? Like it was something normal? If you have guests would you wait for them with a room "heated" at 55 and knowingly put them there? Knowing that due to its position the room was like a cellar? And then play dumb? The second room has a bad bed. At every turn it screeches. Worst I stayed in Cedar Rapids. Even the one star have king beds and warm rooms.
